What are your favorites?

I'd love to know what your favorite wines are. I often get stuck in a bit of a rut with the wines I like. I tend to stay with the same ones time after time so I'd love to hear what you think are wonderful wines so I can try them. I will try them all and post about each one. Leave your URL with your suggestion in the comment section so I can link back to you.

  1. I've been stuck on white chardonnay for years :)

  2. I'm not a big wine fan, but an old neighbor gave me a bottle of Shiraz as a thank you for keeping an eye on things while they were out of town. It was wonderful. I wish I knew what it was. I recall looking it up, but even the big liquor store in Chicago (whose name escapes me) didn't carry it. It was about $36 a bottle. I've tried other Shiraz, but I've found it awful, probably because if I spend $10 on a bottle that's a lot for me. That's probably why I mostly stick with beer. Lol!

  3. I'm not too picky but I do stick with mostly red wine. My current favorite table wine is a Chianti. The name is Gabbiano (sp?) I think but I'm not sure because I drank it all and need to buy more - LOL! I pay about $9 a bottle for this one.

I just tried a very inexpensive cab sav called Bohemian Highway and it was not too bad! For about $7 you can't beat it!

  5. I've always loved the Italian reds. Just recently reviewed Carpineto's "Dogajolo" on

  6. Lambrusco is my all time favorite and Chianti is second. I don't drink wine too often but when I do these are my two to picks!

  7. I like hanging out with a Cline "Old Vine" Zindandel from time to time, or any of the Pinot Noirs from Wilamett, OR. I will occasionally drop of bottle of McMannus Merlot or Cabernet, but use the BV Rutherford Cab when I want to bring the big dogs in. For Chardonnays, there is nothing wrong with KJ, but I like the Rodney Strong and the Sterling, who also make some interesting Sauvingnon Blanc. Most of the Fume Blancs can also be tasty.
